John BurkholderJohn began his national search practice in property and casualty insurance when he founded Burkholder Group, Inc. in 1989. His background is tailor-made for insurance recruiting ... senior executive experience in the Property and Casualty industry ... industrial/ organizational psychologist ... senior human resources officer expertise ... hundreds of thousands of evaluative interviews since 1975. His focus is primarily on senior management and executive level search.Prior to founding Burkholder Group, John was a senior officer for a Dallas-based subsidiary of Great American Insurance Company. He served there initially as senior vice president of human resources and administration and later took national profit and loss responsibility for one of the company's three product groups. |

Throughout his career, John has been responsible for managing the search process for executive, managerial and professional level positions in both administrative and technical functions. His career prior to Great American includes human resources and labor relations assignments with Frito-Lay as well as in the mining and chemical industries with Vulcan Materials. He was also a partner in Berkeley Forums, a media relations firm which trained executives and politicians to handle media interviews under adverse conditions. John earned the Master of Science degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of Tennessee in 1974. He received his Bachelor of Arts in 1972 from Wofford College, a private liberal arts school in South Carolina. |

Darryl ColemanDarryl, a senior partner with Burkholder Group, began his insurance career with Aetna Life and Casualty in 1986 and was subsequently promoted to increasingly responsible managerial and executive roles with five national property and casualty insurance companies in underwriting, claims, customer service and general management. His leadership posts include branch claim manager for USF&G Insurance Company…assistant vice president for Safeco Insurance Company’s customer service division…vice president of the commercial claim division of St. Paul companies…regional president of St. Paul’s Upper Midwest underwriting division...senior vice president claims for CNA Insurance. As a senior executive, he has participated in numerous strategic initiatives and has led significant operational turnarounds. |

Throughout his twenty year insurance career, Darryl gained extensive knowledge of the executive recruiting industry both as a client and candidate. During his leadership tenure, he conducted thousands of interviews for technical, managerial and executive level insurance positions.
Darryl earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from James Madison University in 1986 with minors in public administration and paralegal studies.
